Sandbanks:
Provincial Park

Grab your bathing suits and picnic basket and head out to one of the largest sand bar and dune systems in the world. The long stretches of clean, wide beaches with shallow waters are ideal for children and draw thousands of people each year. Camping facilities and children’s activities are offered.

Bayshore Trail
Running beside the MoiraRiver on a former rail line, this trail passes through downtown Belleville and allows access to shopping and various restaurants. Benches, gazebos, kiosks, and lookouts also make it a very pleasant route. Lenght: 4.4 Km.  Enroute are public washrooms, seasonal canteen and children’s playground. Watch for turtles, ducks and geese in the inlets and lagoons of the Bayshore Trail.

Bon Echo:
Provincial Park

Camp at one of 528 campsites, hike to a cliff top look-out, swim and picnic by the shore or paddle across the First Nations People painted scores of mysterious images on Bon Echo Rock.

Corby Rose Garden In Belleville
There are over 2,000 roses, annuals and perennials in Belleville’s Corby Rose Garden. This unique East Hill park, with its distinctive Victorian flavour, is a legacy of the distillery-related Corby Family.

Fort Wellington National Historic Site 

Built during the War of 1812 and rebuilt in 1838, fort Wellington is considered one of Upper Canada's best preserved British Military Forts.

​Students can explore barracks, the powder magazine, officer's quarters and the latrine to experience what life was like for soldiers and families in 1846. 

Tours are customizable and link to curriculum. Fees may apply.

Lake On The Mountain
Lake On The Mountain is a unique geological phenomenon. Most intriguing is a lake perched on a bluff 200 ft. above the level of Lake Ontario, overlooking Glenora below. It has provided the setting for Indian legends and it was Sir John A. Macdonald’s father that at one time operated a flour mill at the toe of the steep bluff. A spectacular view  to enjoy while bicycling or stopping for a picnic.

National Air Force Museum of Canada
The National Air Force Museum of Canada formerly known as the RCAF Memorial Museum, is an aviation museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force and is located on the west side of CFB Trenton in Trenton, Ontario. The Museum holds the largest number of aircraft on static display and the most skilled team of restoration volunteers of any military museum in the country.
Teachers: Are you teaching your students about the Theory of Flight? About Structures and Mechanisms? About Canadian History? Or are you looking for a Remembrance Day activity? Presqu'ile Provincial Park
Located on the north shore of LakeOntario, the park is renowned for its unique habitats. Book one of Presqu’ile’s almost 400 campsites (group camping too!), swim at the Park’s long sandy beach. Hike the Boardwalk to see marsh birds and spawning fish. A major flyway for migrating birds: waterfowl, warblers and shorebirds and a staging point for migrating Monarchs.

Reid's Dairy in Belleville
Reid’s produces a wide variety of fresh dairy products, milk, creams, ice cream, juices and the famous Loonie Milkshakes, (shakes for a loonie). Next door is an ice cream parlour. Outside there is a playground, the Loonie Ranch Petting Zoo and covered picnic area.
